Sevier County hasn't had much luck against Morristown-Hamblen West recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sevier County Smoky Bears will be playing at home against the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Sevier County beats Morristown-Hamblen West with seven runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Sevier County walked away with a 7-2 win over First Baptist Academy on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Smoky Bears.

Jade Hubbard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Hubbard wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was McKenzie Turner, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Morristown-Hamblen West had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Jefferson County on Thursday by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Trojans' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
Like Sevier County, Morristown-Hamblen West also got a great game from a two-way player: Briony Bunsic. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Bunsic was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Kara Dyke was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Cadence Beaver was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Morristown-Hamblen West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Sevier County back to even at 5-5. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
