After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stanhope Elmore, Percy Julian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Park Crossing Thunderbirds a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Phoenix, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on J Thomas, who earned two runs and three stolen bases. Those runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of K Russell, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Percy Julian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Park Crossing only posted an OBP of .100.

Percy Julian's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Park Crossing, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Percy Julian will head out to challenge Selma at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.76 runs per game on average), something the Phoenix will no doubt try to take advantage of. Park Crossing does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
