Basketball Recap: Pendleton Drops Season-High Score on Riverside

Pendleton scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverside Pirates. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Buckaroos still had to take the loss.

Pendleton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Riverside, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pendleton will head out to face off against Gladstone at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pendleton is facing Gladstone at the right time seeing as Gladstone is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Riverside will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Ontario at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Ontario: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Riverside has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
