The Franklin Lions will head out on the road to take on the Mexia Black Cats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.
Last Friday, Franklin didn't have too much trouble with Westwood at home as they won 72-53. The win was all the more spectacular given Franklin's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 717th, while Westwood is ranked 329th).
Meanwhile, Mexia put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Groesbeck on the road to the tune of 86-41.
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Mexia, they pushed their record up to 23-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Franklin beat Mexia 65-52 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
