Ja'marion Garrett Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Dunbar's Ja'Marion Garrett, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Garrett rushed for 193 yards and five touchdowns on only six carries.
On the season, Garrett has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 165 rushing yards per game.

Groeneweg Made His Presence Known in Glen Rose's 56-6 Victory
Josiah Groeneweg was a major factor in Glen Rose's victory over Hillsboro on Friday. Hillsboro had no answer to Groeneweg as he rushed for 202 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Groeneweg showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 61 yards.
If the past is any indication, Groeneweg could be in store for another big game when he takes on Venus on Friday. Groeneweg picked up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

Canyon Evans Makes It Two for Glen Rose
Keeping Groeneweg company is Canyon Evans, a fellow Glen Rose player. He threw for 231 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
If the past is any indication, Evans could be in store for another big game when he takes on Venus on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Evans saw the Bulldogs), he threw for 379 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Adam Pempsell Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Godley had to settle for second even though Adam Pempsell put up the best numbers he has all season. Pempsell rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Pempsell and Godley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. Pempsell will face off against Kamron Lloyd, Dunbar's star RB. Will the match be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

Brennan Barton's Big Game Leads Benbrook over Godley
Brennan Barton's big game helped extend Benbrook's winning streak to seven on Friday. Barton was dynamite, throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 59 yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Godley had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Barton it was a similar story. When Barton last faced the Wildcats back in November of 2023, he threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt.
