The YES Prep Northwest Hawks are on the road again on Friday and play against Memorial Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th. YES Prep Northwest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, YES Prep Northwest had to suffer through a rough 79-43 loss at the hands of McKinney Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, YES Prep Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1519th, while McKinney Christian Academy is ranked 547th).
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Memorial Lutheran ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Family Christian 64-62. The win made it back-to-back wins for Memorial Lutheran.
Memorial Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Porter, who scored 27 points. The contest was Porter's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Steven Porter, who scored 20 points.
YES Prep Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Memorial Lutheran, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-2.
