The Logansport Berries will take on the Winamac Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Logansport 1.8, Winamac 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Logansport took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Western. The Berries might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Gracie Risley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Risley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Natalee Packard and Adrienne Scott did most of the damage at the plate: Packard went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Scott went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave Scott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Nicoles, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Logansport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western only posted an OBP of .207.
Meanwhile, Winamac came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 9-6.
Like Logansport, Winamac also got a great game from a two-way player: Adrianna Hall. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hall has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makayla Werner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Corrin Combs was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Winamac's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average this season. As for Logansport, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Logansport has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Winamac struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Logansport's way against Winamac in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Logansport made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Berries repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
