Kennadi Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kailyn Brannon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evie Kyper, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Keystone Oaks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Charleroi's offense. They lost 15-0 to South Park on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Charleroi's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Keystone Oaks, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Charleroi's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Keystone Oaks hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Charleroi, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Keystone Oaks' hitters?
