Even though the Rancho Cotate Cougars scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Orland Trojans still came out on top. Orland managed a 60-56 victory over Rancho Cotate. That's two games straight that Orland has won by exactly four points.
Orland had a senior duo take command as Jordan Lister scored 18 points along with 4 steals and Zach Story scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The contest was Story's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Orozco was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 6 rebounds.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Decimus Shaw, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Shaw's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Pengel, who scored 17 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Orland and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Rancho Cotate, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Orland and Cloverdale will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rancho Cotate's road trip will continue as they head out to face Credo at 10:30 a.m. on December 9th.
