After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hayfork, the Butte Valley Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Tulelake out 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Butte Valley has posted yet this season.
Leo Leon and Daniel Garcia certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Leon scored 25 points, while Garcia scored 13 points. That was a full 56.8% of Tulelake's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Butte Valley back to even at 7-7. As for Tulelake, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Butte Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Surprise Valley at 6:30 p.m. Surprise Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Tulelake, they will face off against Hayfork at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hayfork has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
