The Fruitdale Pirates waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 68-10 victory over Millry at home. With Fruitdale ahead 46-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Genna Ivy, who shot 5-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Fruitdale's points. Another player making a difference was Annie Holland, who scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Fruitdale's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Millry, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Fruitdale will stay at home for another game and welcome Satsuma at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Satsuma is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Millry, Millry and Choctaw County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Choctaw County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
