Carrollton is 9-1 against Pleasant Hill since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Carrollton sitting on ten straight wins and Pleasant Hill on three.
Carrollton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Civic Memorial on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. Considering the Hawks have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hannah Uhles made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vanna Holmes, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Flowers, who scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Carrollton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Hill had just enough and edged out Seymour 4-2 on Tuesday.
Like Carrollton, Pleasant Hill also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Wombles. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those hits were Wombles' first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Wombles wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ally Neitzel, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Abi Henderson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Carrollton pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Hill, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Carrollton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. However, it's not like Pleasant Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Carrollton beat Pleasant Hill 9-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
