Design Tech won the last time they faced El Primero and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over the Lobos. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by eight runs or more this season.
Jeneva Fletcher made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Desiree Torres, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Todd, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Design Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Design Tech is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for El Primero, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
