The KIPP Collegiate phoenix will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Douglass Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. KIPP Collegiate comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, KIPP Collegiate had to suffer through a rough 64-8 loss at the hands of the Execs. While losing is never fun, KIPP Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Execs are ranked 123rd).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Douglass, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to the Bears on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Douglass in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.
KIPP Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Douglass, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
KIPP Collegiate was taken down by the Red Devils 61-19 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can KIPP Collegiate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
