Baseball Recap: Central Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Central won the last time they faced Penns Valley Area and things went their way on Monday too. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Rams. Considering the Dragons have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Dilling was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Jesse Muthler was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Central pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Penns Valley Area, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will square off against Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bisons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.67 runs per game on average), something the Dragons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Penns Valley Area, they will challenge Westmont Hilltop at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hilltoppers have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
