Softball Recap: Lamar Has No Trouble Against Butler

Lamar barely beat Butler the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Bears 12-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Maylee Rawlings was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Hagins, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Lamar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lamar's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Butler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Lamar wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-2 victory against Versailles on the 25th. As for Butler, they will face off against Midway at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
