The Canterbury Crusaders and the Keswick Christian Crusaders squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Canterbury Crusaders had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 59-36 walloping at the hands of the Crusaders. Canterbury's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Canterbury saw an underclassman step up: Kayden Calhoun scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lou Donnelly, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Keswick Christian found their leader in underclassman Grant Cook, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Zach Bingham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Canterbury has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season. As for Keswick Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-17.
Canterbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Keswick Christian, they will take on Lakeside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,360 points over their last 19 matches.
