St. Augustine Prep extended the longest winning streak in Cape-Atlantic - National this week by beating Buena, 20-12. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Bridgeton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs defeated Pleasantville 47-6.
St. Augustine Prep's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Hughes threw for 98 and one touchdown and Justyce Pollitt had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Calvin Cass chipped in 193 yards. Andrew Nelson helped St. Augustine Prep's passing attack out by catching four balls for 39 yards.
St. Augustine Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hermits feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hughes has thrown for 750 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Austin Francisco has 14 catches for 308 yards. Cass leads the league in rushing with 1300 yards.
A big matchup in Cape-Atlantic - National this week will be when Middle Township takes on Bridgeton. The Panthers are currently in fourth, while Dave Ellen's team is in third.
Ocean City and Vineland played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Ocean City eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
