With a playoff win on the line, Motley County rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Petersburg Buffaloes, sneaking past 38-35. For the Matadors, this counts as revenge for the 37-32 victory the Buffaloes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Motley County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elizabeth Morales led the charge by putting up 16 points and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Morales has scored at least a third of Motley County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Richards, who posted eight points.

Motley County's win bumped their record up to 14-19. As for Petersburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-12.

Coming up, Motley County will square off against Whitharral at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitharral will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Motley County surely won't give up without a fight. Petersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
