The Pass Christian Pirates were the 58-42 winner over the Natchez Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Pass Christian took a serious blow against Natchez on Saturday, falling 52-23.
Natchez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RONIYA ELLIS led the charge by scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The match was ELLIS's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was ZAMONIE WILSON , who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Pass Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 14-5 record last season and are now at 4-9. As for Natchez, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pass Christian will challenge St. Martin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Martin will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Natchez, they will head out on the road to face off against North Pike at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
