Mount Notre Dame will head out on the road to square off against the Taylor Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Notre Dame is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Mount Notre Dame lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Badin, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. Mount Notre Dame blew past Badin 11-3 on Monday. The result was nothing new for Mount Notre Dame, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Audrey Gildea was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kat Zielinski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Pitzer, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Mount Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Badin only posted an OBP of .310.
Meanwhile, Taylor fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Seton on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints.
Morgan Raugh and Emma King stepped up to the plate in a big way. Raugh went 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBI, while King went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Elisabeth Shirloh, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Mount Notre Dame's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mount Notre Dame has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Taylor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mount Notre Dame skirted past Taylor 6-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Does Mount Notre Dame have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taylor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
