The Denver Academy Mustangs will face off against the Clear Creek Golddiggers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Denver Academy has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Denver Academy came up short against Estes Park on Thursday, falling 13-1. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Clear Creek made easy work of South Park on Friday and carried off a 14-3 victory. With that win, the Golddiggers brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.
Landon Lewis made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Clear Creek is 2-1 when Lewis allows three or fewer hits, but 1-2 otherwise. Lewis was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ski Hull, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Zephyr Schuessler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Clear Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Denver Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clear Creek, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Denver Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Clear Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
