After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parry McCluer, the Bath County Chargers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Pocahontas County by a score of 61-54. The victory was all the more spectacular given Bath County's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 375th in Virginia, while the Warriors are ranked 118th in West Virginia).
Bath County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Turner out in front who scored 17 points along with seven assists and three steals. Turner hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Luke Turner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds.
The victory got Bath County back to even at 10-10. As for Pocahontas County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Bath County will head out on the road to take on the Green Waves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Narrows will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak alive. Pocahontas County will take on the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
