Warren hasn't had much luck against O'Connor recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Warren came up short against Brennan and fell 15-12.
Jayda Rodriguez and Avery Sauceda stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Sauceda went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those doubles were Rodriguez's first of the season. Aubrey Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, O'Connor had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Araceli Alonzo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Sierra, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
O'Connor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in 12 consecutive games.
Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for O'Connor, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Warren hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like O'Connor struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Warren might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from O'Connor in their previous meeting back in February. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
