The Genesee Wolves lost against the Beecher Buccaneers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Genesee was dealt a 87-47 defeat at the hands of Beecher. While losing is never fun, Genesee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 698th, while Beecher is ranked 172nd).
Despite the loss, Genesee still got an impressive performance from Conner Rouse, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Rouse continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristin Aguilar, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Genesee's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Beecher, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genesee will take on Bendle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bendle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for Beecher, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Flint Southwestern Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Flint Southwestern Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
