4A Far West recap Oct. 16, 2012
Siuslaw extended the longest winning streak in 4A Far West this week by beating Douglas, 28-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Vikings.
Sutherlin took down South Umpqua 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Douglas' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan Shaffer has thrown for 1256 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Riley Lavin has 29 catches for 379 yards. Nate Vosika leads the league in rushing with 519 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Siuslaw takes on Brookings-Harbor. Tim Dodson's team is currently in first, while the Bruins are in fourth.
The Bulldogs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,097 from 9,598. The advance stemmed from a 42-6 victory over the Lancers last week.
