Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lee Academy 11-10. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Augusta Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cardinal Newman, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
