Monmouth Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Dirigo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Monmouth Academy will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
While Monmouth Academy's victory against Oak Hill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Raiders 3-2 on Monday.
Meanwhile, Dirigo hadn't done well against Maranacook recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cougars walked away with a 10-7 win over the Black Bears. Dirigo's victory was all the more impressive since the Black Bears were averaging only 3.94 runs allowed on the season.
Trevor Crosby made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. Crosby was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Dirigo let Hudson Lufkin and Kaeden Swan run wild. Lufkin got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Swan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs. Lufkin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Hutchinson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Dirigo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maranacook only posted an OBP of .447.
Monmouth Academy's record is now 16-1. As for Dirigo, their record now sits at 7-8.
Everything went Monmouth Academy's way against Dirigo in their previous meeting back in June of 2025, as Monmouth Academy made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
