Baseball Recap: Ridgemont Wins Going Away Against Ada

Ridgemont's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Ada Bulldogs with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the Golden Gophers have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Xavier Stuck was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jon Cromer, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Maddox Thompson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ridgemont's record now sits at 4-6. As for Ada, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Ridgemont has already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Upper Scioto Valley on the 21st. As for Ada, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-2 defeat against Leipsic on the 21st.
