Seffner Christian waltzed into their contest Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 92-51 win over Foundation Christian Academy on the road. Given Seffner Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Foundation Christian Academy is ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seffner Christian found their leader in underclassman Mekhi White, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. White also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Cameron Knox was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Winthrop College Prep Academy came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Saint Stephen's Episcopal as Winthrop College Prep Academy made off with a 69-46 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winthrop College Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kai Brookins, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Stephen Miller, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Seffner Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Seffner Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 74.1 points per game. It's a different story for Winthrop College Prep Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 66.2 points per game.
