Basketball Recap: Santaluces Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop O'Connell, Santaluces was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Palm Beach Central Broncos, sneaking past 50-48. For the Chiefs, this counts as revenge for the 64-23 win the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Jaedeyn Garvin was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aisha Elyacinthe, who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Despite the loss, Palm Beach Central still got an impressive performance from Izabelle Vilmont, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Triniti Crouse, who put up 11 points.

Santaluces is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Palm Beach Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Santaluces didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-24 victory against Lake Worth on the 8th. As for Palm Beach Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-29 win against South Fork on the 8th.
