Payson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Hurricane Tigers on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Aydrie Christensen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Christensen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Allie Callahan was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was London Armstrong, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Payson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hurricane only posted an OBP of .353.
The win was the third in a row for Payson, bringing their record up to 22-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Hurricane, their loss dropped their record down to 15-19.
As of now, neither Payson nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
