There's no place like home for the Stayton Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past Newport with a 57-53 victory on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Stayton also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Stayton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ean Dillingham, who scored 13 points. Kaden Holm was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Stayton now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Newport, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stayton will take on Philomath at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Philomath's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches. As for Newport, they will head out on the road to challenge Cascade at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cascade has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 766 points over their last 12 contests.
