After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last four games, the Douglass Red Devils finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They were beaten by Memphis Business Academy 57-21. Douglass has struggled against the Execs recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Memphis Business Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Curnesha Taylor out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Sarai Batts was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Memphis Business Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Memphis Business Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season. As for they, they will be playing at home against Memphis Rise Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memphis Rise Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Execs are ranked 128th).
