Mapletown took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Tuesday. Mapletown's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
It was another big night for Bryce Nicholson, who scored 38 points along with eight steals and three blocks for Turkeyfoot Valley Area. Nicholson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Zack Ryan was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 13 points, 15 rebounds, and ten assists.
Mapletown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mapletown will take on Jefferson-Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jefferson-Morgan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Ferndale at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
