Parkland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2021.
Parkland walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-18, 25-17.
Their offense was headlined by Edriannys Alvarez and Kie'Erra Quincy, who picked up four kills apiece. Quincy really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six. Braelyn Dillard controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkland will challenge Statesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ben L. Smith, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Western Guilford at 5:30 p.m. on the 26th.
