Loveland hasn't had much luck against Windsor recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Wolves will welcome the Wizards at 6:15 p.m. Loveland has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Loveland managed to slip by Mountain Range the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Wolves lost 11-1 to the Mustangs on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Izabelle Tilton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Windsor waltzed into their contest on Saturday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Lambkins.
Shannon Nielsen looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Breckyn Billadeau, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kylie Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Windsor's win bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Loveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Loveland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Windsor struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Loveland might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Windsor in their previous meeting back in September. Will the Red Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
