The Wellington Crusaders and the Wamego Red Raiders squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Wellington Crusaders had to settle for second. Wellington was dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of Wamego. Wellington's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Dusty Bannister threw for 165 yards on nine of 24 attempts. Brody Weir was his top target, picking up 84 receiving yards.
Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Wamego, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record.
Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wamego will be playing in front of their home fans against Andover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Andover Central is ranked 37th, while Wamego is ranked 28th).
