Decatur hasn't had much luck against Lawrence County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Red Raiders will take on the Red Devils in a tournament on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Tuesday, Decatur came up short against Muscle Shoals and fell 3-1. While the Red Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-16 in the first set.
Decatur started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Decatur got top-tier performance from Virginia Pylant, who had 23 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Pylant is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County didn't have quite enough to beat Loretto on Thursday and fell 2-1.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Lawrence County sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 26-24, 18-25, 15-8.
Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-19. As for Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 13-20.
Decatur came up short against Lawrence County in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, falling 2-0. Thankfully for the Red Raiders, Kylie Graham (who had 18 digs, seven kills, and one block) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
