Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Drops Season-High Score on St. John Bosco Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinecrest Academy). They walked away with a 70-61 win over St. John Bosco Academy on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Paladins also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Pinecrest Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seve Rohlen, who shot 78% from beyond the arc en route to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Rohlen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Lynch, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Pinecrest Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. John Bosco Academy only posted three.

St. John Bosco Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Lemoine and Liam McCavitt. Lemoine dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards, while McCavitt almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. McCavitt has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Charlie Dodson was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Pinecrest Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. John Bosco Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Pinecrest Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-39 defeat against Lanier Christian Academy on the 12th. As for St. John Bosco Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 71-53 loss against Horizon Christian Academy on the 12th.
