The Indianapolis Washington Continentals and the Speedway Sparkplugs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Indianapolis Washington Continentals had to settle for second. They took a serious blow against the Sparkplugs, falling 56-12. While losing is never fun, Indianapolis Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Sparkplugs are ranked 178th).
Speedway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniella Galvez out in front who scored 13 points along with two steals. Galvez hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Mylie Walton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and two steals.
Indianapolis Washington has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Speedway, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
