The Allatoona Buccaneers were the 31-0 winner over the River Ridge Knights when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Allatoona's tough 50-29 defeat to River Ridge on Friday might stick with them for a while. Allatoona has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Allatoona's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Daniel, who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Daniel was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards.
River Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Spector, who threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Camden Cox, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Allatoona's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for River Ridge, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
Allatoona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. River Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Roswell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Roswell's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matches.
