The Providence Pioneers will head out to face off against the North Harrison Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Providence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Providence is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Christian Academy on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Presley Hegedus (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Presley Flowers (2028) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Sydney Laslie (2027) was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, North Harrison came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Commodores.
Kendall Christie made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Christie was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryn Myrick, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Another player making a difference was Kendal Maher, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
North Harrison's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Providence has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Providence came up short against North Harrison in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
