After losing to the Loyola Cubs the last time they met, the Crespi Celts decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Crespi enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over Loyola on Friday. Given Crespi's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Loyola is ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Peyton White, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakai Perrantes, who scored seven points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Crespi and bumps their season record up to 20-5. As for Loyola, they bumped their record down to 13-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crespi will challenge Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Loyola won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Beverly Hills at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Beverly Hills will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
