Bacon Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the East Lyme Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, Bacon Academy came up short against Simsbury and fell 32-24. While losing is never fun, Bacon Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Simsbury is ranked first).
Despite the defeat, Bacon Academy saw an underclassman step up: Skyelyn Schoen-rene scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to East Lyme, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 45-31 to Waterford.
Bacon Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for East Lyme, they bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bacon Academy beat East Lyme 52-40 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bacon Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
