Last Thursday, Seminole Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Martin County, taking the game 14-11. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Zarah Lee looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Ary Nord was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Chloe Coffie, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Seminole Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Martin County only posted a batting average of .306.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Dr. Joaquin Garcia was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 13-1 to Jupiter. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.
Dr. Joaquin Garcia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was A Johnston, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Having lost for the first time this season, Dr. Joaquin Garcia fell to 2-1. As for Seminole Ridge, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
Seminole Ridge's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. Seminole Ridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Seminole Ridge continue to outrun the ball?
