Pinecrest Academy Cadence can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast Career Tech 70-34 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Maurer led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maurer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Engfer, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Maurer got a bit more time on the court (28 vs. his season average of 13.46). Maurer made the most of the opportunity, scoring 22 points along with five steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Cristo Rey St. Viator's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-17.
