They took their contest on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 76-43 victory over Denbigh Baptist Christian. The win was just what Hampton Christian Academy needed coming off of a 88-36 defeat in their prior matchup.
Hampton Christian Academy was led to victory by Martino Henry and Sean O'Connor. Henry scored 21 points along with seven rebounds, while O'Connor dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game was O'Connor's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Bryce Harris was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Hampton Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against StoneBridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. StoneBridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Hampton Christian Academy is ranked 117th). As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Portsmouth Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
