Menendez is 9-1 against Palatka since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Menendez Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Palatka Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Menendez was fully in charge, breezing past Vanguard 65-11 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-7.
Meanwhile, Palatka entered their tilt with Seabreeze with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Palatka strolled past Seabreeze with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 59-44.
Palatka can attribute much of their success to Jhane Fountain , who scored 17 points, and Charnelle Cue , who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fountain has scored at least 25% of Palatka's points. Another player making a difference was Mikhia Peeples, who scored 7 points.
Menendez now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Palatka, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Everything came up roses for Menendez against Palatka in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 58-31 win. Does Menendez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palatka turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
