Miller suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Fisher Catholic at home and fell 82-6. While losing is never fun, Miller can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 754th, while Fisher Catholic is ranked 159th).
Meanwhile, Wellington School entered their tilt with Cristo Rey with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Wellington School claimed a resounding 56-6 win over Cristo Rey at home. Wellington School has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.
Wellington School's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Samika Varma, who scored 12 points, and Elodie Ware, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Gigi Manley, who scored eight points.
Miller's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Wellington School, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
Miller came up short against Wellington School in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 46-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ware, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds.
